On Interpol's request, transport is joined by an experienced detective Dragan Vukovic, who decided to transfer to a desk job in Belgrade after his wife died. Zombies UNDER attack by humans

Can't someone save the poor zombies from these mindless predators?

Macabre performance art by Olivier de Sagazan

There is something so Hellraiser-ish about this piece by French artist Olivier de Sagazan entitled Return to Close. Featuring a strange graph-like background, some clay, paint, and wool, de Sagazan proceeds to mold and remold a variety of inhuman visages upon his own. It is by turns creepy and humorous.

The day of the Triffids- CBC/BBC miniseries

OMG this looks great. I was never much on the original "Day of the Triffids" but this could be amazing.

"In the not too distant future, man's search for an alternative fuel supply leads him to uncover the ominous Triffid, a crop now cultivated for its fuel that seems to have a life of its own. But when billions of humans are mysteriously blinded, the Triffids find their way out of captivity. Free to roam the planet with a fatal sting, and a retributive taste for human flesh, the Triffids begin rapid breeding.

Now Dr Bill Masen (Dougray Scott) must lead the brave in their epic battle against the Triffids' reign of terror in what could be the last days of mankind."

The slightly modernized two part mini-series was written by Patrick Harbinson of ER and Law & Order fame and is currently in production to air later this Summer 2009.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Thanks agentorange/quietearth

Even though I have nothing but kind words to say about Jane Austen and her large cast of strong modern-before-their-time female characters, I've always felt there was something about her work that doesn't quite jive with me the way it does the various female people in my life. Thankfully, author Graheme-Smith has emerged to enlighten me as to what the missing ingredient is. In fact, when I read the title of his forthcoming book I had, what some call, a eureka moment. "Of course!" I exclaimed. "It was so obvious. Zombies!"

Not only that, but word from the Sunday Times is that there is already a bidding war for the film rights to the book which means one very important thing. No more video store arguments. Yep, young couples everywhere will no be in total agreement when trying to decide what to watch. It won't be Austen for her, horror for him. Oh no, it's going to be one movie to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them.

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" "features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone crunching zombie action."

Yesterday-2009

Impact-2009

Now THIS looks good, no trailer yet but we will put it up the moment we get one...enjoy!

While the entire world watches the largest meteor shower in 10,000 years, a brown dwarf, hidden by the meteor field, smashes into the moon in a tremendous explosion of rock and debris. Fragments of the moon itself, penetrate Earth's atmosphere and make impact. Even though the initial damage is minimal, nerves are frayed throughout the planet. Then strange anomalies begin to manifest themselves on Earth. It starts small - cell phone disruptions, unusual static charges and odd tidal behavior.

The world's leading scientists begin piecing together evidence that suggests the moon's properties, and its orbit, may have been permanently altered. Their fears are realized when the anomalies increase to the point where the effect of "simulated" gravity is being manipulated by increased electromagnetic surges coming from the moon. People, cars and other objects are rendered momentarily weightless in random, isolated areas around the globe. Alex, Maddie, Roland and the rest of their team soon discover something far worse - the moon's new orbit has put it on a collision course with Earth!

The world now has 39 days to stop it or Earth, and all of mankind, will perish.

The Killing Fields- more super fast zombies

What looks to be a mixture of (sometimes) good photography along with some B-movie horror action is The Killing Fields which we have a trailer for, but no synopsis. Based on the trailer though, we can surmise it has something to do with a biological breakout in Texas amidst the cornfieleds where a couple's car has broken down.

"Real" Zombie attack (very good)

I hate all this shaky camera crap that's so popular but these guys have made a really great zombie short. Nice acting too.

Ghosts, Spirits, and Demons

Thanks to AndrosEnigmaX for one of the coolest compilation videos we've found. The ghost in the parking garage made global news a while back. Very chilling.
Some of it 's a little contrived but it does give a nice scare...enjoy

Proof of time travel?

Ghost caught on film-2006, location unknown

A video of an ghostly apparition caught on camera. Watch as the two people in the video start walking towards some stairs, you will see what looks like the figure of a woman in a white dress walk right in front of them.

There was no one there wearing a dress. You'll also see that the two investigators don't seem to notice the ghost, meaning they probably didn't see it at the time.

It’s weird! And cleverly edited! Zombies! You decided the next move in the clip! (Warning: violence, bad words, strange acting choices, awesome.)

New Pinhead design for Hellraiser remake

Our friends at Fangoria have a first look at the new and improved (I must say) Pinhead.
I've seen it happen too many times, most notably with Freddie Kruger, when a series hits movie number 3 things start to get corny. The maniacal fiend that made your blood run cold becomes a third rate vaudevillian tossing out one liners for yucks.
I like the idea of a grosser, bloody, more serious Pinhead.

Offspring-2009

Survivors of a feral flesh-eating clan are chowing their way through the locals. Amy Halbard and Claire Carey strive to survive their abduction by the cannibals and save their children. A subplot involving Claire's despicable husband, Steven, gives an opportunity to cleverly compare predatory civilized folk to the appetite-driven primitives.
Based on the fantastic book by Jack Ketchum (read it twice). It's kind of a lord of the flies/Hills have eyes/ Wrong turn/Texas chainsaw massacre/Blue Lagoon type of movie. (through that last one in for shits and giggles)

Austin, TX -Zombie warning signs

Bring me the man responsible for this and I will bare him strong sons.

Pontypool-2009, a Canadian zombie movie

Morning radio personality Grant Mazzy is having a bad month.
His career from Toronto radio personality has been diminished to broadcasting small town radio from the basement of a church; a task he makes bearable by thinly veiled sarcasm and small town mockery. His producer wants him to talk about school closings and traffic hick-ups. He wants drama and controversy. With a three person crew running Pontypool’s “The Beacon,” there is already a fair bit of tension in the room. The level rises significantly when reports start coming in of some sort of mob attacks. The traffic reporter confirms that there is indeed a mob attacking the local psychiatrists office, and there is much blood and murder on the scene. Not your average day in Pontypool. While Grant, more than a bit of an egotist, at first thinks the locals are playing a practical joke, when calls from the BBC start coming in asking for details (they think it is a French separatist terrorist attack), he begins to believe that he is nearly at ground zero of a major story. Determined to keep broadcasting even when the infected come up to the front door, The Beacon is pretty much the radio broadcast that the characters in every other Zombie flick tune into for a little it of exposition. But what if the language itself is spreading the disease?

* Description of the Zombie virus by Bruce McDonald:

"There are three stages to this virus. The first stage is you might begin to repeat a word. Something gets stuck. And usually it's words that are terms of endearment like sweetheart or honey. The second stage is your language becomes scrambled and you can't express yourself properly. The third stage you become so distraught at your condition that the only way out situation you feel, as an infected person, is to try and chew your way through the mouth of another person."

A Rocky Horror remake in 2010?

A Rocky Horror Picture Show remake is in the works according to Variety.....

Story below:

MTV is doing the time warp on a remake of 1975 cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Lou Adler, exec producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.

Two-hour remake will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.

Helmer and casting decisions have yet to be announced.

Fox is sin discussions with BSkyB and Sky Movies to co-finance and distribute the telepic abroad.

Timetable for the start of production hasn't been established yet but the partners aim to move forward quickly once the final elements are in place.

"I'd like to see it shown a year from this coming Halloween, but that's up to MTV," Adler said.

BermanBraun principal Gail Berman will exec produce the project along with partner Lloyd Braun. Berman has been attached to a "Rocky Horror" remake dating back to her tenure as Fox programming chief (Daily Variety, July 1, 2002).

The original "Rocky Horror," starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf, has grossed $140 million in domestic box office over the years, primarily from the wallets of youthful audience members who have shown up for midnight screenings over the past three decades.

Cigarette burns- 2006, director John Carpenter

Self mutilation, angel torture, snuff films, a movie about a movie so horrifying it drives you to murderous insanity....what more could you want.
Thanks to Starzmedia we have this trailer of one of my favorite indie flicks.

Written by Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan, Directed by John Carpenter ("Halloween," "The Thing")

Jimmy Sweetman (Norman Reedus) knows how to find rare film prints. However, nothing could prepare him for the daunting search for "Le Fin du Monde," a film allegedly shown only once and rumored to have driven its audience into a murderous frenzy before the theater mysteriously erupted in flames. Working for a shadowy patron, Jimmy's increasingly obsessive investigation becomes nightmarish and deadly. Finally he discovers "Le Fin du Monde"'s infamy is well deserved. This supernatural "Chinatown" is a chilling look at the power of cinema and the lengths to which we will go to satiate our private demons.

War of the dead: Z.E.R.O.- online zombie series

Not too shabby. Nice effort and great story line. I'm looking forward to more episodes.

THE STORY

It is the Third Age of the War of the Dead, an "alternate present" that takes place almost a decade after the first flesh-eating ghouls rose from the grave.

As with most catastrophes, the world learned to control and adapt. The seeming apocalypse of the living dead was, after several long years of military and humanitarian efforts, reduced to localized threats. The Zombie Emergency Response Operations task force (Z-E-R-O) is formed out of several government and municipal agencies to contain and eliminate zombie outbreaks.

Z-E-R-O is made up of four separate divisions: SECURITY, RESCUE, DISPOSAL, and SCIENCES. Each branch is organized to deal with very specific areas of an outbreak and coordinate with one another to better understand and/or destroy the undead.

The SECURITY branch is made up of regional "units", each of which contains as many four-man squads as necessary based on population density.

THE SERIES:
WAR OF THE DEAD: Z-E-R-O is a short, episodic series that follows a squad of four Z-E-R-O Security personnel on their various missions to destroy zombie outbreaks. They are a group of violent, dysfunctional, yet elite soldiers who are mentally and physically trained to handle the stresses of this line of work, even if they are ill-prepared to handle the stresses of life.

Though dealing with horrific, unimaginable situations, WOTD:ZERO balances the gore with humor and realistic, complex characters and storylines.

Lifeless- the zombie TV show

Trailer below-
Wow, we've been waiting on this one since last year, and as far as I know, this is the first ever post apocalyptic zombie tv show to come to fruition, although I'm not sure at this point if they have a deal yet. It looks to be well shot and just up our alley. While I know little about the storyline I'm guessing it has something to do with survival.
"A global pandemic has decimated the population and left the cities deserted. When a handful of survivors find themselves stranded in the aftermath, with the dead returning to life, they must rely on each other to live in a world overrun by the walking dead. Lifeless is an episodic drama of survival horror."

What in the world is happening in Catlett, VA ?

"I found this very disturbing post on a paranormal website. Can't verify any of it but the story creeps me out, enjoy....

"At first glance, I imagine someone would probably respond to that question with a resounding "a whole lotta nothing.". Catlett is a small town in the Virginia Piedmont dotted with corn and cow farms. The few shops that are in town look deserted and run down, and the only thing that seems to show any signs of life is the Southern States railroad depot that sits nestled up to the tracks in the center of town.

Now, anyone who has lived in western Fauquier County anytime in the last 40 years will tell you that strange things tend to find their way into our neck of the woods. A "United States Army Training Facility" that oddly is nowhere in the federal record books of army bases but is still very much active and regularly being expanded looms over the town in the surrounding mountains to the west. Don't believe me? Look up Warrenton, Virginia in any type of satellite imaging service and take special note that the entire town is blurred out and chunks of the map are red and blotchy. Notice how it seems, to the north of the town, what looks like residential subdivisions are blurred out. Interesting isn't it? That's a conversation for another time and place though.

Well, for a very long time, due east of us, was the infamous Vint Hill Farms Station. Today it provides low income families with housing and is home to a large air traffic control facility and several warehouses. Driving out onto the now public land belies the glory days of this casualty of the Clinton budget cuts. If you weren't aware of it, Vint Hill was where the majority of your Army Intelligence forces were formed, along with the makings of Delta. The NSA was documented as using the gigantic antennae that still sit over the base in the active days of the base, and if you take the ongoing activity of the most high powered antenna and the presence of tinted-suburbans cruising around at all hours, someone still may be using it. Growing up within two miles of the perimeter of the base, I could never listen to the radio until I was significantly out of range. My friends and I would constantly get weird chattering signals and interference.

But this isn't about Vint Hill or the experiments that took place there, or the "Training Center" that looms over Warrenton like the spooky house in a B-Rated horror movie. The reason i'm using these places as a launch pad is to give you, the reader, some idea of the interest this area has to elements of the more covert realms of our government. This is about something sinister that's happening in Catlett, Virginia, literally ten miles either way from these previous sites. This all started when my little brother, a first year college student and really great kid, came flying into the driveway of my house two weeks ago. Tears streaming down his face, he started to explain to me that while driving down Route 28. in the middle of Catlett, time stopped. There was a bright light, and all of a sudden he was driving the other way, several miles out of town. The first thought that jumped into my mind was the missing time phenomena and it's connection to abduction; the only problem is, he had no way of verifying the time. And trust me, even though this is the first thing that jumped into my mind, I'm as skeptical as the next guy. My little brother isn't a liar, though.

After telling him to crash on the couch and that we would drive back out there in the morning, i retired to my office to try and find some answers on the internet, and maybe some clues to any past unexplained activity in the area. I found a lone .pdf detailing the abduction of two local women, but that was enough to start on. Linkage.

Scanning the pages of the document, i extracted the names of the two women it names. C. Holcomb, the woman it directly quotes the most in the text, has seemingly since relocated out of the area. D. Graves, however, it would appear, is still very much here. She is the owner and proprietor of Moonraker Equestrian Academy. After letting the pieces come together and let my imagination run wild for a bit, i uneasily went to my bedroom, set my alarm, and had a fitful sleep.

The following morning, or later that day i should say, my brother and i hastily climbed into my jeep and headed for Catlett. "This is where it happened.", he exclaimed. We were just crossing the railroad tracks when he spoke, and it jarred my memory. Moonraker was a few miles outside of the little hamlet, on Burwell Road, so i decided to turn toward it. Once on Burwell, I started getting a more clear picture of what may possibly be going on out here in the middle of nowhere. Growing up in Fauquier, I had always heard urban legends from my friends about the seemingly normal houses where no one seemed to live, but were seemingly being used by government looking types. When i saw this little black "house" perched on the side of Burwell, those old stories came back to me. I pulled over on the side of the road to take a closer look. The house was very small, and looked coated in something metallic. Not just the siding, but the entire thing. The windows looked like they had been sprayed with some sort of latex or other kind of rubber. I looked back at my brother, who was adamantly shaking his head. I felt the same way inside, but i guess the same thing that pulls me back to this website time and time again pushed me to go up to the door and knock. I did just that, and stood there waiting. I listened intently for any kind of commotion inside. There was nothing, just a barely inaudible hum, like the hum of a fly's wings but at a constant pace. I quickly shuffled off of the porch and looked down the driveway to the left, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. On the fence blockading the dirt road from potential trespassers hung a red and white sign declaring "No Trespassing" by command of the "U.S. Government". I looked at my brother and we both acknowledged what we had seen.

We never reached Moonraker that day, a little under two weeks ago. We were convinced we were stumbling on to something that was headed down a potentially dangerous road. In a conversation with my father later that day, when i brought up the enigmatic house and sign we had found, he told me coolly that the government owns property all throughout Catlett, and those signs are visible along fencing that runs along many of the surrounding roads."
