The day of the Triffids- CBC/BBC miniseries

OMG this looks great. I was never much on the original "Day of the Triffids" but this could be amazing.
"In the not too distant future, man's search for an alternative fuel supply leads him to uncover the ominous Triffid, a crop now cultivated for its fuel that seems to have a life of its own. But when billions of humans are mysteriously blinded, the Triffids find their way out of captivity. Free to roam the planet with a fatal sting, and a retributive taste for human flesh, the Triffids begin rapid breeding.
Now Dr Bill Masen (Dougray Scott) must lead the brave in their epic battle against the Triffids' reign of terror in what could be the last days of mankind."
The slightly modernized two part mini-series was written by Patrick Harbinson of ER and Law & Order fame and is currently in production to air later this Summer 2009.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Thanks agentorange/quietearth
Even though I have nothing but kind words to say about Jane Austen and her large cast of strong modern-before-their-time female characters, I've always felt there was something about her work that doesn't quite jive with me the way it does the various female people in my life. Thankfully, author Graheme-Smith has emerged to enlighten me as to what the missing ingredient is. In fact, when I read the title of his forthcoming book I had, what some call, a eureka moment. "Of course!" I exclaimed. "It was so obvious. Zombies!"
Not only that, but word from the Sunday Times is that there is already a bidding war for the film rights to the book which means one very important thing. No more video store arguments. Yep, young couples everywhere will no be in total agreement when trying to decide what to watch. It won't be Austen for her, horror for him. Oh no, it's going to be one movie to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them.
"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" "features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone crunching zombie action."
Yesterday-2009
Low budget Canadian zombie flick...enjoy
Yesterday follows the lives of complete strangers in the middle of a zombie outbreak. As each person struggles to survive we find their actions begin to affect the lives of others around the dying city, culminating in a stand off at the local grocery store. There, the remaining survivors decide to band together and flee to the wilderness. Once camp is built however, they find that the living dead are not the only danger as they begin to turn on one another in a struggle for power and control.

Impact-2009
Now THIS looks good, no trailer yet but we will put it up the moment we get one...enjoy!

While the entire world watches the largest meteor shower in 10,000 years, a brown dwarf, hidden by the meteor field, smashes into the moon in a tremendous explosion of rock and debris. Fragments of the moon itself, penetrate Earth's atmosphere and make impact. Even though the initial damage is minimal, nerves are frayed throughout the planet. Then strange anomalies begin to manifest themselves on Earth. It starts small - cell phone disruptions, unusual static charges and odd tidal behavior.
The world's leading scientists begin piecing together evidence that suggests the moon's properties, and its orbit, may have been permanently altered. Their fears are realized when the anomalies increase to the point where the effect of "simulated" gravity is being manipulated by increased electromagnetic surges coming from the moon. People, cars and other objects are rendered momentarily weightless in random, isolated areas around the globe. Alex, Maddie, Roland and the rest of their team soon discover something far worse - the moon's new orbit has put it on a collision course with Earth!
The world now has 39 days to stop it or Earth, and all of mankind, will perish.

The Killing Fields- more super fast zombies
What looks to be a mixture of (sometimes) good photography along with some B-movie horror action is The Killing Fields which we have a trailer for, but no synopsis. Based on the trailer though, we can surmise it has something to do with a biological breakout in Texas amidst the cornfieleds where a couple's car has broken down.

"Real" Zombie attack (very good)
I hate all this shaky camera crap that's so popular but these guys have made a really great zombie short. Nice acting too.
Ghosts, Spirits, and Demons
Thanks to AndrosEnigmaX for one of the coolest compilation videos we've found. The ghost in the parking garage made global news a while back. Very chilling.
Some of it 's a little contrived but it does give a nice scare...enjoy

Ghost caught on film-2006, location unknown
A video of an ghostly apparition caught on camera. Watch as the two people in the video start walking towards some stairs, you will see what looks like the figure of a woman in a white dress walk right in front of them.
There was no one there wearing a dress. You'll also see that the two investigators don't seem to notice the ghost, meaning they probably didn't see it at the time.
